On May 12, 2026, the Center for Library Resources and Educational Media, Walailak University, opened its doors to welcome 50 Grade 7 and Grade 10 students from the Walailak University Demonstration School, as part of a field trip activity to get to know the university’s learning resources for the 2026 academic year.

Teachers and students from the Walailak University Demonstration School visited the Temporary Library at the Center for Library Resources and Educational Media, located in the Architecture and Design Practice Building, which served as the “first base” in the workshop activity titled “A New Journey of Learning and Future Camp.” The activity was organized to help students learn about and become familiar with various places within the university, while inspiring them to pursue further knowledge. During the visit, Mr. Suwat Kerdmanee, Librarian, led the students on a tour and introduced them to the library’s RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, the main system used to record the entry and exit of members — including students, faculty, and staff — for convenience, speed, and security, which sparked great excitement about the library’s technology among the students. The students also listened to a briefing on library rules and regulations, borrowing privileges for information resources, and access to various interesting collections, so that they could use the library’s services correctly and get the most benefit for their studies.

The highlight that excited the students the most was a visit to the “Game Zone,” where Mrs. Santhat Sarak, Librarian, introduced the library’s collection of more than 80 board games, which students can borrow to play in the designated game corner. Students had a great time in the “Game Zone,” a space for relaxation combined with learning, filled with a fun atmosphere. Many students tried out air hockey on one of the multi-purpose game tables, which can be adjusted for billiards, pool, hockey, and table tennis — bringing smiles and leaving a strong impression. In addition to gaining knowledge, students also discovered a modern recreational space well-suited to teenage lifestyles.
