On May 12, 2026, the Center for Library and Educational Media, Walailak University, warmly welcomed 50 Grade 7 and Grade 10 students from the Walailak University Demonstration School as part of an educational field trip designed to introduce new students to learning resources and facilities across the university for the 2026 academic year.

Teachers and students from the Demonstration School visited the Temporary Library at the Center for Library and Educational Media, located in the Architecture and Design Building. The visit served as the first stop in a hands-on workshop program entitled “A New Journey of Learning and Future Camp.”

The program aims to help students become familiar with various facilities and learning resources across the university while inspiring them to explore knowledge and develop a lifelong learning mindset.

During the visit, Mr. Suwat Koetmanee, Librarian, introduced the students to the library’s Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, which serves as a key system for recording the entry and exit of library members, including students, faculty members, and staff. The technology provides a convenient, fast, and secure way to access the library while giving the students an exciting glimpse into modern library technology.

The students also learned about library rules and regulations, borrowing privileges for information resources, and how to access the library’s various collections. The session was designed to help students use library services correctly and make the most of the resources available to support their studies.

A Fun-Filled Highlight: The Game Zone

One of the most exciting highlights for the students was a visit to the library’s Game Zone.

Ms. Santhat Sarak, Librarian, introduced the students to the library’s extensive collection of more than 80 board games, which students can borrow and enjoy within the designated game area.

The Game Zone provides a modern recreational space where students can relax, have fun, and learn through play. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as many students had the opportunity to try out the air hockey table, one of the library’s versatile game tables that can be adapted for billiards, pool, air hockey, and table tennis.

The visit not only provided the students with valuable knowledge about library services and resources but also introduced them to a modern recreational space designed to support learning while reflecting the lifestyle and interests of today’s younger generation.

The Center for Library and Educational Media is delighted to be part of the students’ first steps on their new journey of learning and discovery at Walailak University.
