The 2024 Annual General Meeting of the Green Library Club and the Signing Ceremony of the Green Library Network Collaboration Agreement.
On November 21, 2024, at the Kamphol Adulvit Conference Room, 50th Anniversary Information Building, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen, the Library Science Department of Kasetsart University, in collaboration with the Green Library Club, organized the 2024 Annual General Meeting of the Green Library Club and the Signing Ceremony of the Green Library Network Collaboration Agreement. In this event, Assistant Professor Dr. Siwanath Nanthapichai, Acting Director of the Center for Library resources and educational medias, was authorized by the President of Walailak University to participate in the signing ceremony, alongside Mrs. Ketsamaporn Tanbunyakij, Head of the General Administration and Secretariat Department, who participated as a witness.
The purpose of this event was to declare the commitment to developing the Green Library Network collaboration, promoting and supporting the implementation of Green Library assessments, supporting and developing activities to enhance environmental education, jointly developing and providing environmental information services, and collectively reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with the country’s Carbon Neutrality goals. A total of 49 organizations and 54 libraries participated in the collaboration agreement.
During the event, plaques of recognition were awarded to the Green Libraries that successfully passed the 2024 annual assessment. The five libraries recognized were:
- The Library and Science and Technology Information Center, Department of Science Service
- The Information and Educational Media Center, Mae Fah Luang University
- The Science and Technology Services Center, Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University
- The Information and Communication Technology Services Center, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University
- The Library, Kasetsart University
The event was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Thanin Kongshila, Vice President for Human Resources and Strategy, who welcomed the attendees. Dr. Aree Thanakitjanukij, Chairperson of the Green Library Club, spoke about the objectives of the meeting, and Professor Suwakhon Sirivongvarawat, President of the Thai Library Association, graciously chaired the meeting, officially opening the session and presenting the recognition plaques.
In addition to the meeting and the signing ceremony of the Green Library Network collaboration, there was also a panel discussion and academic lecture, as well as an exhibition showcasing environmental innovation achievements from Kasetsart University.
