Gale, a publishing company, has awarded the Top 10 Usage Award to The Center for Library Resources and Educational Media at Walailak University.
This award is given to institutions that have made the most significant use of Gale’s databases as part of the Gale X PULINET partnership, which began in 2018. The partnership aimed to provide university libraries in the PULINET network with access to a wider range of electronic resources, such as over 3,000 reference books and up to four databases containing millions of articles, at no additional cost.
Initially, the usage of these resources varied among participating universities. To recognize and encourage greater utilization
Gale introduced the Top 5 Usage Award in 2022. Due to the increasing participation in the program, the number of awards was expanded to 10 in 2023. The Center for Library Resources and Educational Media Walailak University secured the 10th position in this year’s ranking. Gale presented a plaque to in recognition of this achievement. The company expressed hope for continued collaboration to further promote the use of these resources and achieve even better results in 2024. The introduction of the Gale Usage Award over the past two years has stimulated increased efforts among participating universities, including Walailak University, to maximize the use of the provided resources and improve their rankings in future evaluations.
