On Wednesday 1 st, February 2023, representatives, consisting of 32 lecturers and students from the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Thaksin University, Songkhla, visited Bota Sky Tower, Bota Garden, Walailak University and attended a talk on “Organizational Management for Excellence, Information Management of the Center for Library Resources and Educational Media, Walailak University” at Room 201, Lecture Building 6 (ST Building), Walailak University. On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Siwanath Nuntapichai, Director of the Center of Library Resources and Educational Media, Walailak University and team welcomed the delegates.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Siwanath Nuntapichai, Director of the Library Resources and Educational Media gave a talk on “Organizational Management for Excellence”. The talk’s key summary focuses on organizational management in the 21st century undergoing swift changes which generate impact on library users and library officers of all levels. As a result, it is imperative that all involved need to adjust the regular work operations given technological assistance and replacement brought in multiple aspects such as service provision and question responses. Besides, funding earmarked for the library has recently been declining and procurement of online database is on a higher demand than physical books. Therefore, to power the library management through these changes, all involved are required to adjust responsibilities and operations. For example, librarians are no longer required to perform a daily book analysis or be counter-stationed to assist the users because of the self-access to the database or Google. On the other hand, their duties are being geared toward database trainers and content creators optimizing the library’s services. The library has enforced the policy to have all of the library officers added Job2 as addition workload and common responsibilities since 2022 to compensate for the tasks assigned to the Artificial Intelligence instead. After the lecture, students and officers of Walailak University, including the Division of Corporate Communication Walailak University and the administration team of the Center for Library Resources and Educational Media concluded the session with the token presentation ceremony where a group photo was also taken.
