This event was organized to encourage students and staff members participated in continuing the beautiful Thai tradition of expressing gratitude to Phra Mae Khongkha (the Goddess of Water) through Loy Krathong, including having the courage to express yourself, unity and supporting equality. Within the event, in addition to a beauty contest, there were also stalls selling products, food and nature conservative-themed Krathongs in the central hall and the Ploenta area, Thaiburee Building. The pond area in front of the Thaiburee Building was decorated for use in floating Kraghongs to ask for forgiveness from Phra Mae Kongkha. There was also a musical performance from the Walailak University student band, which received the attention of students, staff and the general public joining in the event.
